About Our Program
- The UNC Hockey team practices two times per week, on Monday and Wednesday evenings, as well as an off ice dry-land practice. Practices occur from August through March. The game schedule has roughly 35 games per season, including multiple out of state road trips and at least 15 home games at the Greeley Ice Haus, home of the Bears.
- UNC Hockey has its own dedicated locker room at the Greeley Ice Haus.
- The UNC Men’s Hockey program is part of the American Collegiate Hockey Association – Men’s Division 2 and a member of the Big Mountain Hockey Conference.
- In the last six seasons, we have had a 90% graduation rate with numerous players receiving academic honors.
Our Cost
- The UNC Men’s Hockey team are a self-funded non-profit hockey organization that operates through player dues and continual fundraising programs.
- Player dues for the 2021-22 season will be $2000 per player (Not included: $400 for equipment package for rookies) and will cover all costs for the season including travel.
- The team offers annual, semester, and monthly payment plans and the administration is continually working to bring down the costs for players.
- New players are responsible for purchasing their own navy blue helmet. New players will pay an additional $400 for equipment which includes Warrior gloves, an equipment and travel bag, off ice workout apparel, and warmups.

Eligibility Requirements
- Each ACHA student athlete must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 by the beginning of a student athlete’s second year of eligibility.
- Players can participate only for the school they attend.
- Men’s Division 2 student-athletes must carry a minimum credit requirement of twelve (12) semester hours for undergraduates, to begin each semester. A player may drop to nine (9) credits during a semester but MUST complete 24 credits during the most current academic year.
- A Men’s Division 2 Student-athlete shall have ten (10) semesters of ACHA eligibility. If, however, the student-athlete was on an NCAA or Canadian University (CIAU) roster at any level at any time for more than one (1) year two (2) semesters, the student-athlete is restricted to eight (8) semesters of ACHA Men’s Division I was play, minus his time at the NCAA or Canadian University (CIAU) level.
- Junior College players shall have ten (10) semesters of ACHA eligibility minus the time spent on a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) roster. One (1) semester on an NJCAA roster equals one (1) semester of ACHA eligibility.
